Seat Belt Ticket Florida

In a car crash you are much more likely to be killed if you are not wearing a seat belt. That is why Florida has seat belt laws. The law states that the front seat passengers must wear seat belts. This law applies to any car manufactured since 1968. in addition, all passengers under 18 years old must wear a seat belt or be otherwise restrained by a child car seat. It is against the law to operate a vehicle if all the passengers do not meet these standards.

The Florida safety belt laws apply at all times. Regardless if you are on a short trip in your neighborhood or driving hundreds of miles on the Turnpike – always wear your seat belt.

From May 20 to June 2, cops are going to be having a field day. The NHTSA click it or ticket campaign starts. This means that you must have your kids in child seats and everyone who sits in the front seat.

There is no doubt that seatbelts save lives. The problem is, cops can use no seat belt law as an excuse to pull over people. There are no points for not wearing a seat belt, but you will get three points if your infant is not in a car seat. So make sure you wear your seatbelt and call us if you get pulled over. If you do, you will probably get more than one ticket.

Seat belt ticket fines can be around $30 to $145.00

If you’ve been cited for violating a traffic law and would like to learn about your legal options, it may be in your best interests to consult with an attorney

If you feel your seat belt citation was issued in error, or you feel the ticket is unfair, you may fight it in court
