You also might be offered to take a Traffic School Course which can lower your points on your license and not increase your insurance

Example if you get a Speeding Ticket in Miami and then a Speeding Ticket in Fort Lauderdale and it’s 10 miles over the speed limit the Fine is the same, the only difference might be the Court Cost and or additional fees. Court Cost can vary from County to County. Each County in Florida has a Set Fee / Court Fee that is paid additionally on top of your Traffic Ticket Fine.

Once you receive a certain number of points on your drivers license within an allotted amount of time The State of Florida will suspend your drivers license. Points on License allowed within time frame

12 points during 12 months, your license will be suspended for 30 days.

18 points during 18 months, your license will be suspended for 3 months.

24 points during 36 months, your license will be suspended for 1 year
